Why Are Jews So Blessed by Mark V. Markov Why are Jews are so blessed, Because they are Abraham’s seed Abraham believed God And it was accounted to him as righteousness. Blessed are those who bless you and cursed are those who curse you God said that in the Bible. See Genesis 12:1-3 1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. 2 “I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. Numbers 23:7-10 7 Then Balaam uttered his oracle: “Balak brought me from Aram, the king of Moab from the eastern mountains. ‘Come,’ he said, ‘curse Jacob for me; come, denounce Israel.’ 8 How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I denounce those whom the LORD has not denounced? 9 From the rocky peaks I see them, from the heights I view them. I see a people who live apart and do not consider themselves one of the nations. 10 Who can count the dust of Jacob or number the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and may my end be like theirs!” Genesis 12:1-20 The Call of Abram 1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. 2 “I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” 4 So Abram left, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran. 5 He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived there. 6 Abram traveled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. 7 The LORD appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the LORD, who had appeared to him. 8 From there he went on toward the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the LORD and called on the name of the LORD. 9 Then Abram set out and continued toward the Negev. Abram in Egypt 10 Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down to Egypt to live there for a while because the famine was severe. 11 As he was about to enter Egypt, he said to his wife Sarai, “I know what a beautiful woman you are. 12 When the Egyptians see you, they will say, ‘This is his wife.’ Then they will kill me but will let you live. 13 Say you are my sister, so that I will be treated well for your sake and my life will be spared because of you.” 14 When Abram came to Egypt, the Egyptians saw that she was a very beautiful woman. 15 And when Pharaoh’s officials saw her, they praised her to Pharaoh, and she was taken into his palace. 16 He treated Abram well for her sake, and Abram acquired sheep and cattle, male and female donkeys, menservants and maidservants, and camels. 17 But the LORD inflicted serious diseases on Pharaoh and his household because of Abram’s wife Sarai. 18 So Pharaoh summoned Abram. “What have you done to me?” he said. “Why didn’t you tell me she was your wife? 19 Why did you say, ‘She is my sister,’ so that I took her to be my wife? Now then, here is your wife. Take her and go!” 20 Then Pharaoh gave orders about Abram to his men, and they sent him on his way, with his wife and everything he had. Galatians 3:6 6 Consider Abraham: “He believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” 7 Understand, then, that those who believe are children of Abraham. 8 The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” 9 So those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. James 2:20-24 20 You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? 21 Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,”and he was called God’s friend. 24 You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone. Numbers 23:1-12 1 Balaam said, “Build me seven altars here, and prepare seven bulls and seven rams for me.” 2 Balak did as Balaam said, and the two of them offered a bull and a ram on each altar. 3 Then Balaam said to Balak, “Stay here beside your offering while I go aside. Perhaps the LORD will come to meet with me. Whatever he reveals to me I will tell you.” Then he went off to a barren height. 4 God met with him, and Balaam said, “I have prepared seven altars, and on each altar I have offered a bull and a ram.” 5 The LORD put a message in Balaam’s mouth and said, “Go back to Balak and give him this message.” 6 So he went back to him and found him standing beside his offering, with all the princes of Moab. 7 Then Balaam uttered his oracle: “Balak brought me from Aram, the king of Moab from the eastern mountains. Let me die the death of the righteous, and may my end be like theirs!” 11 Balak said to Balaam, “What have you done to me? I brought you to curse my enemies, but you have done nothing but bless them!” 12 He answered, “Must I not speak what the LORD puts in my mouth?” Matthew 1:1-17 The Genealogy of Jesus 1 A record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ the son of David, the son of Abraham: 2 Abraham was the father of Isaac, Isaac the father of Jacob, Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers, 3 Judah the father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar, Perez the father of Hezron, Hezron the father of Ram, 4 Ram the father of Amminadab, Amminadab the father of Nahshon, Nahshon the father of Salmon, 5 Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab, Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse, 6 and Jesse the father of King David. David was the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah’s wife, 7 Solomon the father of Rehoboam, Rehoboam the father of Abijah, Abijah the father of Asa, 8 Asa the father of Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat the father of Jehoram, Jehoram the father of Uzziah, 9 Uzziah the father of Jotham, Jotham the father of Ahaz, Ahaz the father of Hezekiah, 10 Hezekiah the father of Manasseh, Manasseh the father of Amon, Amon the father of Josiah, 11 and Josiah the father of Jeconiah and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon. 12 After the exile to Babylon: Jeconiah was the father of Shealtiel, Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel, 13 Zerubbabel the father of Abiud, Abiud the father of Eliakim, Eliakim the father of Azor, 14 Azor the father of Zadok, Zadok the father of Akim, Akim the father of Eliud, 15 Eliud the father of Eleazar, Eleazar the father of Matthan, Matthan the father of Jacob, 16 and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. 17 Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Christ. Luke 3:21- The Baptism and Genealogy of Jesus 21 When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened 22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” 23 Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry. He was the son, so it was thought, of Joseph, the son of Heli, 24 the son of Matthat, the son of Levi, the son of Melki, the son of Jannai, the son of Joseph, 25 the son of Mattathias, the son of Amos, the son of Nahum, the son of Esli, the son of Naggai, 26 the son of Maath, the son of Mattathias, the son of Semein, the son of Josech, the son of Joda, 27 the son of Joanan, the son of Rhesa, the son of Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, the son of Neri, 28 the son of Melki, the son of Addi, the son of Cosam, the son of Elmadam, the son of Er, 29 the son of Joshua, the son of Eliezer, the son of Jorim, the son of Matthat, the son of Levi, 30 the son of Simeon, the son of Judah, the son of Joseph, the son of Jonam, the son of Eliakim, 31 the son of Melea, the son of Menna, the son of Mattatha, the son of Nathan, the son of David, 32 the son of Jesse, the son of Obed, the son of Boaz, the son of Salmon, the son of Nahshon, 33 the son of Amminadab, the son of Ram, the son of Hezron, the son of Perez, the son of Judah, 34 the son of Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham, the son of Terah, the son of Nahor, 35 the son of Serug, the son of Reu, the son of Peleg, the son of Eber, the son of Shelah, 36 the son of Cainan, the son of Arphaxad, the son of Shem, the son of Noah, the son of Lamech, 37 the son of Methuselah, the son of Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of Mahalalel, the son of Kenan, 38 the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, Because God saw that Abraham believed that God would resurect his only son Isaac who was born from Sarah God sent His angel to tell abraham Not to sacrifice Isaac God said I will send my only begotten Son to be sacrificed for the world that who shall ever believe in Him will not perish but will have everlasting life John 3:16 And so the sacrifice of pure lamb was that promise that came true and God's only begotten son became the lamb of God who was sacrificed so that all who believe and are baptized in water and of Spirit in Jesus Christ name or in the name of Father Son Holy Spirit Since that name is Jesus Christ also Then you are saved, yet you must be faithful till the end of your life. Father, Son, Holy Spirit is Jesus Christ Even though since Father is not a name and Son are not a name It's same as if you are a son of someone, you still do have a name, right? Or if you are a daughter of someone, well you do have a name, right? If you are a father of someone, well you do have a name, right? In this case God's Son's name was Jesus Christ Since Heavenly Father was in Him spiritually And Holy Spirit was in Him spiritually Their names were Jesus Christ also. Jesus Christ was just humble So He said in the name of Father, Son, Holy Spirit which meant Jesus Christ because the two Deities Father and Holy Spirit were in him also. . Still, you must be faithful to God after you are baptized. You must be faithful till the end Other wise you will lose your salvation. Revelation 2:10 10 Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life. Revelation 3:11 11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. So Christ became the light to the world The renaissance started after Him And the world changed and evolved So much ,since Men had an option to push away all evil The evil that was keeping him or her back from excelling in life Please note that all evil comes from lucifer and satan Who was holding people back From evolving, and from developing. If it was for lucifer We all would be living in an Aztec civilization even right now. Killing each other as barbarians As is noted in our very own history books The Roman empire before conversion to Christianity When they were throwing innocent people to lions as a sport It was a sport back then, for them to watch innocent people torn apart and eaten by lions. They still have this Colosseum in Italy The place of that gruesome sport. and German barbarians etc. We would be without any technology what so ever. Look at Egypt it is a secular (non Christian ) nation It's still the same now as it was back then They still have the pyramids That the Jew slaves were building for them Nothing else changed As a matter of fact America still sponsors them Sends them money They are second after Israel. In receiving American financial aid. Israel must be blessed, For who ever blesses them will blessed by God. As scripture says. Genesis 12:3 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. And all technology that Egypt now has All thanks to the developed Christian nations As a matter of fact Most African and Asian countries have copied from The developed Christian nations Whether it's style, wedding ceremony, car, aviation Or just the perspective on life. People started to invent things Which became very useful Even now We have many things that were invented by Christians Influence of Ferdinand Verbiest by whom The First self-propelled vehicle in China was invented in 1672 Called the Verbiest’s car. Powered by Steam. It is said that he built the car in China. Three centuries ago the Jesuit mision to China realized a special charism of the Society of Jesus. Its influence was spectacular, including projects like determining the Russo-Chinese border, and its success was even more dramatic than that of the Paraguay Reductions. Sent to Christianize many millions of people, a handful of men were trained in the language and culture of China and skilled in what the Chinese admired most, mathematics and science. Their story is told in tapistries and paintings found in the art world and references to them are read in world histories. It is ironic that the Chinese were taught the heliocentric theory by the Jesuits long before it was allowed in Europe. (Perhaps due to a substantial lag in communications, Galileo's plight had not caught up to the Jesuits in China.) The China mission has been spoken of with awe and admiration by historians such as Joseph Needham and John Baddeley. Europe was thrilled with the work of the mission. Leibniz, an ecuminist far ahead of his time, suggested to his Jesuit friends on the China mission how to clarify the mystery of the trinity by using the newly discovered imaginary numbers as an analogue of the Holy Spirit. It is not clear whether the Jesuits took Leibniz's advice. Although the mission had frightful dangers, savage martydoms and terrible disappointments there were times when the Jesuits enjoyed great prestige, independence and authority. One such time, during the reign of Emperor K'ang Hsi, was the tenure of the Flemish Jesuit Ferdinand Verbiest as President of the Board of Mathematics. Verbiest died 300 years ago on the 27th of January in 1688, was buried with imperial honors. Their experience was not always triumphant and the Jesuits sometimes endured great sufferings. Shortly after Verbiest arrived in Peking the Jesuits were accused of teaching a false religion and so were chained and cast into a filthy prison where they were bound to wooden pegs in such a way that they could neither stand nor sit. There they remained for almost two months until their sentence of strangulation was imposed. A high court found the sentence too light and ordered them to be cut up into bits while still alive. Because an earthquake destroyed the part of the palace chosen for the execution, the sentence was not carried out and the Jesuits were released. Soon after in a dramatic turn of events the Jesuits moved from disgrace to honor. The Emperor ordered a public debate concerning the relative merits of Chinese and European astronomy. It was to have three parts: to determine the shadow of a fixed gnomon, to predict the position of the planets at a fixed time and to predict the exact time of a lunar eclipse which had been expected about that time. It was decided that the two astronomers, the Chinese Moslem Yang, and the Christian Verbiest should each use their mathematical skills and then the Heavens would be the judge. The contest was held at the Bureau of Astronomy where were gathered the privy council, the ministers of state, the officials of the observatory, and a host of other mandarins. Yang was not up to the tasks, while Verbiest, with his precise data, triumphed in all three and was immediately installed as President of the Board of Mathematics. Verbiest then audaciously suggested that the mistakes in the Chinese calendar be corrected. His predecessors had inserted an extra month to cover previous errors and Verbiest insisted that it be eliminated. Alarmed that such a public document as the nation's calendar used by millions, which had been approved and promulgated by the Emperor, should be altered, the officials begged Verbiest to withdraw the suggestion. He replied, "It is not within my power to make the heavens agree with your calendar. The extra month must be taken out." It was, and Verbiest had won an astonishing victory. After this Verbiest had a real friend in the Emperor K'ang Hsi who was eager to share his knowledge. Verbiest taught him geometry, and in doing so translated the first six books of Euclid into Manchu. He instructed him also in philosophy and music. In doing this he took advantage of every opportunity to introduce Christianity. The Emperor elevated him to the highest grade of the mandarinate and gave him permission to preach Christianity anywhere in the empire. After his initial successes Verbiest was entrusted with very many projects of the empire among which was the casting of 132 cannons for the imperial army, instruments far superior to any previous Chinese weapons. For this he was commended by Pope Innocent XI for "using profane science for the safety of the people". It is unlikely such a commendation would have been made today. Among his many inventions is found a steam engine to propel ships, thus anticipating Watts and Fulton. It seemed that little went on in the empire during the next few decades without Verbiest. He was frequently invited to the palace and it was not unusual for the Emperor to take Verbiest along on his expeditions throughout the empire. Having restructured of the calendar, one of the empire's most crucial documents, he composed a table of all solar and lunar eclipses for the next 2000 years. Delighted with this the Emperor gave him complete charge of the imperial astronomy observatory which had been built in 1279. Since the ancient equipment was by now obsolete, Verbiest designed new instruments and completely rebuilt the observatory in 1673. Sensitive to history of the empire, however, he preserved the old equipment. He then constructed the great bronze astronomical instruments which have become a Peking tourist attraction even today. A century later when the Jesuits were forced out of China. the observatory fell into disrepair. During the Boxer rebellion instruments were stolen and brought to Prussia and the Jesuit scientific library was given to the Czar. In 1981, however, the Chinese government restored the observatory. The Jesuits long had an interest in find an overland route from Europe through Christian Russia. The Tsar's ambassador to China at the time was able to speak Latin and so could converse with the Jesuits. This involved Verbiest in negotiations over the border between the two countries and later it was partly under his direction that the Russo-Chinese borders were determined and his surveyers were sent out to mark them. Ferdinand Verbiest, S.J. Besides his numerous maps of China, and also of the then known world, Verbiest wrote no less than 30 books. Among these may be found a 32 volume handbook on astronomy, a manchu grammar, a Chinese missal and a work entitled Kiao-li-siang-kiai which is a statement of the fundamental teachings of Christianity and which became the basis for later Chinese Chrisitian literature. His scientific achievements occasioned several princes and many mandarins and scholars to become Catholics, so that by the time Verbiest died there were about 800,000 Catholics living in 1,200 communities. Verbiest is listed as one of 108 Chinese heroes of the popular novel Shui Hu Chuan , and his portrait is shown with Chinese features in a famous Japanese print. After he died he was buried next to the other two giants of the Jesuit mission: Matteo Ricciand Adam Schall. Their tomb is difficult to visit since it is on the campus of a College of Political Science, but it is immaculately preserved. Verbiest died a century after the Jesuit mission had begun, and a century before the tragic decision of Pope Clement XI regarding the Chinese rites, which pratically ended this vibrant, promising mission. The work in China had to be started over again in a later century and with much less success. It is not difficult to imagine the consequences for the Church and its missionary endeavors if such a decision were made in the fifth century when St Patrick was trying to cope with the rites of the Gaels. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Adventures of Some Early Jesuit Scientists José de Acosta, S.J. - 1600: Pioneer of the Geophysical Sciences François De Aguilon, S.J. - 1617: and his Six books on Optics Roger Joseph Boscovich, S.J. - 1787: and his atomic theory Christopher Clavius, S.J. - 1612: and his Gregorian Calendar Honoré Fabri, S.J. - 1688: and his post-calculus geometry Francesco M. This is an undeniable fact. Just go back to the history of America and these European countries just before Christianity entered in these countries. It will definitely be a shocking fact that they were aggressive in nature and were leading an uncultured and brutal life like the people dwelling in forests. It is amazing to note the tremendous changes happened in their life after Christianity entered in these countries. It is difficult to compare their past life and the present life as such a change has taken place in their life after accepting and following Christ and His teachings. Nobody can say that it is just because of the development of science. If someone thinks that way just look into the life of such scientists. They were all followers and believers of Jesus Christ and were Christians. Let me list out few of the prominent names of such Christian scientists who contributed their life and blood for the betterment of the society. Let this be a reminder to my friends who blames Christians and Christianity. Benjamin Franklin the scientist, an inventor, a statesman, a printer and publisher, a philosopher, a musician, and an economist. Who invented an efficient heating stove and proved that lightning is electricity was a Christian believer. Galileo the astronomer, physicist, mathematician, and philosopher who played a major role in the Scientific Revolution. The father of modern observational astronomy, the father of modern physics, the "father of science”, and "the Father of Modern Science was a Christian. Sir Isaac Newton a mathematician and physicist, one of the foremost scientific intellects of all time who discovered how the universe is held together through his theory of gravitation, he also discovered the secrets of light and color. Louis Pasteur a chemist and biologist, who proved the germ theory of disease and invented the process of pasteurization. Devi Humphrey, the inventor of potassium and Davis Lamb. Michael Faraday, the discoverer of electro-magnetic induction, electro-magnetic rotations, the magneto-optical effect, diamagnetism, field theory. James watt, the inventor of steam engine. Henry Cavendish, the scientist noted for his discovery of hydrogen. He described the density of hydrogen. Cavendish is also known for the Cavendish experiment, his measurement of the Earth's density, and early research into electricity are well known. William Murdock, the inventor of gas lighting termed as gasometer he also made a number of discoveries in the field of chemistry. T Thomas Alva Edison, the inventor of Phonograph, Light bulb - Motion Pictures. Guglielmo Marconi, the Nobel Prize winner in physic and the inventor of Radio. Paul Vernier, the mathematician who described the vernier caliper measuring scale. Samuel F B Mayors, the founder of telegraphic system. George Stevenson, the inventor of rail engine. Mason, the inventor of mason’s hygrometer (for determining the relative humidity). Anders Celsius, an Astronomer the inventor of centigrade. Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit, the physicist, who invented the alcohol thermometer, and the mercury thermometer he also introduced the temperature scale that bears his name - Fahrenheit Scale. Alfred Nobel, the inventor of dynamite and the founder of Nobel prizes which are awarded each year to people, irrespective of nationality who made valuable contributions to the good of humanity. John Guttenberg, the inventor of printing machine, ,the inventor of the modern spinning machine, Dr. Simpson, the inventor of chloroform, Famous philosopher Lord Francis Bacon, Father of modern chemistry Boyle, Founder of Neptune Prof. Adams, Famous geological scientist Adam Sedgwick, Dalton, the inventor of atomic theory. Young, the inventor of theory of light, Kelvin the famous scientist, Sir George Stocks known as the modern Newton and the five times Chairman of the fellow of Royal Society, Wilberforce, who stopped the slave system, John Howard, reformer of the jail system, World famous poets, Pope, Tennyson, Milton, Wordsworth, William Shakespeare the famous writer, The brave and famous fighters like Napoleon, Nelson, Duke of Wellington, The great philosophers like Beacons Field, Gladstone, Kitchener, Lloyd George, Balfer, Famous numerologists’ like John Heraclius, Laibinites, Pascal, Christopher Columbus the discoverer of America, Cook and maghalen the adventurous people, who traveled around the world in a ship, The famous sculpture and artist Michelangelo, the list goes on, there is no end to this list. These famous scientists and philosophers were believers of Christian faith. In fact these scientist’s discoveries and inventions are so useful for the modern man is an undisputed fact. The amazing thing is that a Christian’s brain is worked behind all these inventions and creations. One who blame Christianity should check these facts and stop blaming Christians for everything. The clothes they wear, the pen they use, the vehicle they travel, the technical instruments they use, the computer they use, the postal system a discovery of a European Christian all such things needed badly for their daily use. Even Mahatma Gandhi who discarded the foreign clothes needed a vehicle invented by a European for his travel and he used a printing machine founded by yet another European, and again he used a timepiece invented by a foreigner. These and many other things for the daily use all are created or invented by the Christians or let me put it this way, “Take the case of any invention a Christian’s brain is worked behind. No doubt even to the people of India’s developments Christians and Christianity played a vital role. Ruling or administration of a nation, war diplomacy, education, business, artifacts, dressing or dress design, and countless other areas we the Indians are now following the pattern of our western counterparts. The fact is that a majority of Indians are rejected our traditional Indian culture and customs and now following the developing nations like Europe, America and other Christian nations. The Christian missionaries gifts to our educational and health system is amazing. This is yet another undisputed fact; no doubt we the Indians are indebted to the English speaking countries for the present developments in India.. Just have a look at our history books that itself, will speak volumes about our previous culture, systems, habits and traditions. And then just look at our present status this is only because of Christians influence upon us. The interesting and shameful fact is that the people who have an enmity towards Christians and Christianity need their governments’ jobs and their university degrees and their inventions like airplane, motor transport, the postal system, the internet facilities and numerous other systems invented by Christian believers. In short we the Indians are very much indebted to our Christian Brethren for our present status. Before the westerners arrived India what was our condition? No doubt it was in a haphazard and chaotic condition. Our women flocks were like slaves and were fully under the control of men and they were not even allowed to go out from the four walls of the kitchen. Wives can’t stand or come before the husbands they must be away from all activities of the family in fact they were treated worse than slaves. They have no voice of their own and polygamy marriage system was prevalent. A historian recorded about a person who married 50 women. And one woman can have five or more husbands. There was yet another system of women staying in temples and doing all sorts of menial job for the men. This is known as Devadasi system, it was very common especially in villages. There was another kind of brutal treatment towards women, the ‘Sati System’, living wives are burned along with the dead bodies of their husbands or throwing the woman in the pyre of the husband. Another practice was throwing little children to the river Ganges as an offering to the mother river Ganges. The ill treatment and negligence towards the blind, orphans, lepers were a common thing. There was no mental hospitals, cruel punishment were a common thing especially towards the downtrodden. There were frequent fighting between the people. According to the tradition, fighting between small kings were common, the pathetic condition of the jails, no religious freedom, petty quarreling among leaders and neighboring states, corruption, unscientific cultivation, undeveloped educational system all these were the condition of our ancient India before the arrival of westerners. But after their arrival the conditions tremendously changed and their ruling paved a basic way to the present improved or developed system. For these tremendous changes and developments are we not indebted to the westerners? No sensible person can deny these facts. Yes we are in every way fully indebted to our western counterparts for our present stage/status. The people who blame Christians and Christianity should make note of these facts and stop blaming Christians and their culture. Many today just ignore these facts and just blame it on Christianity and Christians for every unfortunate things happening around the world, especially when some untoward things happens in western countries, Christians are blamed everywhere. How nice it would have been the people who blame Christianity and Christians make note of this. May God help them to understand the real truth Now back to my commentary below How can people not to understand these facts of truth. People, Jesus Christ was a Jew. So basically Christ is part of word Christ-ian which means Christ-like to others person. It's as same as the word Jew would be part of a word Jew-sian my definition of it is Jew like to others person. Christian = Jewsian So Jewsian is a Jew- like to others person same as Christian is Christ- like person. We must all be Christ -like, we must be Christ to others in need. For we represent Him in this world. And He did fed people spiritually and physically.. So go right ahead and open up those big fat wallets of yours which you have gotten as a blessing from God don't be like the rich person who obeyed the commandments of God but did not want to give away his treasure on earth to gain the everlasting treasure in heaven and to follow Christ's teaching. The Rich Man and Lazarus Please note that even though Jesus Christ spoke in parables it is usual noted in scripture, yet in this account below it doesn't say and a parable he spoke to them , like it usually says in scripture before he tells a parable. So this account starts as you see below in Luke 16:19-31 19 “There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20 At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’ 25 “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’ 27 “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father’s house, 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’ 29 “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’ 30 “‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’ 31 “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’” Luke 12:16-21 Please note this one says parable before he started to tell the story. 16 And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. 17 He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’ 18 “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. 19 And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’ 20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ 21 “This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God.” Mark 10:17-31 The Rich Young Man 17 As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. 19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.’ 20 “Teacher,” he declared, “all these I have kept since I was a boy.” 21 Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” 22 At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth. 23 Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!” 24 The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it is[e] to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 26 The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, “Who then can be saved?” 27 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” 28 Peter said to him, “We have left everything to follow you!” 29 “I tell you the truth,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel 30 will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life. 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.” Verse 31 means you could believe all your life and be inactive, while someone else might of just believed is very active. Being a Christ to someone in need. Matthew 19:16-30 The Rich Young Man 16 Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” 17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.” 18 “Which ones?” the man inquired. Jesus replied, “‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, 19 honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’ 20 “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?” 21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” 22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. 23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” 26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” 27 Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?” 28 Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first. The verses 28-30 here say that you will receive all this reward at the time of renewal. So while you are in this transitional life, you must use your wealth to help others in need and accumulate treasure in heaven. Luke 16:9 I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings. See Luke 16:1-15 The Parable of the Shrewd Manager 1 Jesus told his disciples: “There was a rich man whose manager was accused of wasting his possessions. 2 So he called him in and asked him, ‘What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your management, because you cannot be manager any longer.’ 3 “The manager said to himself, ‘What shall I do now? My master is taking away my job. I’m not strong enough to dig, and I’m ashamed to beg— 4 I know what I’ll do so that, when I lose my job here, people will welcome me into their houses.’ 5 “So he called in each one of his master’s debtors. He asked the first, ‘How much do you owe my master?’ 6 “‘Eight hundred gallons of olive oil,’ he replied. “The manager told him, ‘Take your bill, sit down quickly, and make it four hundred.’ 7 “Then he asked the second, ‘And how much do you owe?’ “‘A thousand bushels of wheat,’ he replied. “He told him, ‘Take your bill and make it eight hundred.’ 8 “The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light. 9 I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings. 10 “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11 So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? 12 And if you have not been trustworthy with someone elses property, who will give you property of your own? 13 “No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” 14 The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and were sneering at Jesus. 15 He said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of men, but God knows your hearts. What is highly valued among men is detestable in God’s sight. Verse 15 means love of money is detestable before God Since you must love God more then money and more then anything. But using money to help others in need is beautiful Since it is a sacrifice that you will be doing For God, with your hard earned money. Christ said to the least of others you did Then you did as unto me. Help each other, especially if anyone has a need. Buy each other pizza or something similar let it be on the house. (Just because He's talented and is in very funny movies) Matthew 25:31-40 31 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, \inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' 37Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' 40And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.' Matthew 25:41-46 41"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.' 44Then they also will answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?' 45Then he will answer them, saying, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.' 46And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." Mark 9:41 For truly, I say to you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ will by no means lose his reward. 1 John 2:7-11 7Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old commandment that you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have heard. 8At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. 9Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. 10Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. 11But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. So if you love and are able to help, but choose not help in any way isn't that hate? James 4:17 17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin. Holy Spirit through James says that kind of action is a sin. All scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit of God. 2 Peter 1:20-21 20knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. 21For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. 2 Peter 1:16-21 16For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased," 18we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain. 19And we have something more sure, the prophetic word, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, 20knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. 21For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. Once again 2 Timothy 3:16-17 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. Breathed out means comes from God's Holy Spirit. After all God gave Adam from His breath of life. And Adam became a living being. Genesis 2:7 7then the LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. Genesis 15 God’s Covenant With Abram 1 After this, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” 2 But Abram said, “O Sovereign LORD, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.” 4 Then the word of the LORD came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son coming from your own body will be your heir.” 5 He took him outside and said, “Look up at the heavens and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” 6 Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness. 7 He also said to him, “I am the LORD, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to take possession of it.” 8 But Abram said, “O Sovereign LORD, how can I know that I will gain possession of it?” 9 So the LORD said to him, “Bring me a heifer, a goat and a ram, each three years old, along with a dove and a young pigeon.” 10 Abram brought all these to him, cut them in two and arranged the halves opposite each other; the birds, however, he did not cut in half. 11 Then birds of prey came down on the carcasses, but Abram drove them away. 12 As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a thick and dreadful darkness came over him. 13 Then the LORD said to him, “Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated four hundred years. 14 But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions. 15 You, however, will go to your fathers in peace and be buried at a good old age. 16 In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.” 17 When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, a smoking firepot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between the pieces. 18 On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram and said, “To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates— 19 the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites, 20 Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites, 21 Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites.” Isn't it stupid if you drive a car made by foreigners and at the same time hate those foreigners.
